Straight out of his Master’s Program at TUM, Matthias Schmitt has (co-)founded three successful companies. In the FinTech industry, he contributed to scaling the B2B2C SaaS wealthpilot as Co-Founder Sales to Series B, serving more than 100,000 customers in Europe. He also grew Skigaudi as Co-Founder & Co-CEO into the most renowned German brand for winter festivals for students, attracting thousands of participants annually. Through his early-stage investment vehicle, Paradise Venture UG, he has supported several impactful new ventures in climate and mental health tech.

Feeling burnt out after six intense years, Matthias found that the things he had achieved seemed irrelevant and meaningless. In 2020 and 2021, he left his two companies and fell into a deep hole that lasted nearly two years. It was a challenging period.

Looking back on this episode, Matthias acknowledges that he would have done many things differently. He made a lot of mistakes, but he didn’t know better at the time.
