SHANE FUHRMAN
Shane Fuhrman began his career in New York as a finance attorney at a first tier international law firm, and then continued as a senior associate with international law firm Simpson, Thacher, and Bartlett, ranked as one of the top 10 law firms in the United States.
Shane transitioned from law to real estate development and hospitality in 2016, when he founded Selwyn Capital Management. As Managing Partner of Selwyn Capital, Shane acquired, developed, and operated multiple hospitality projects, including The Wyman Hotel, The Rochester Hotel, and The Durango Lodge. Shane’s hotels receive ongoing media recognition including Sunset Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Departures Magazine, Condé Nast, Ski Magazine, Freeskier Magazine, Mr. Porter, and Uncrate.
Shane also served as the Mayor of the Town of Silverton from 2020 to 2024. During his tenure, Shane played a pivotal role in guiding Silverton through the COVID pandemic safely and effectively. He facilitated the development and implementation of the Town’s 10-year master plan, and initiated a comprehensive overhaul of the Town of Silverton building code. His efforts were highlighted by a long-form article in The Sunday New York Times, recognizing his leadership in fostering community cohesion in a historically divided town.
